Another Major Controversy for Nijisanji
Over the past couple of years, Nijisanji as a Vtuber agency hasn’t been a stranger to controversy. After Selen, Zaion and others have all left Nijisanji either they were wrongfully terminated in Selen’s case, and then had their livers do a blackscreen stream trying to paint her as some villain or they have willingly left, it’s why Nijisanji is known as a black company or also known by their other name of Kurosanji.
Now recently the controversy hasn’t stopped since last year with there being rumors and at least an investigation going into Aster Arcadia in regards to him sexually harassing new girls and guilt tripping them. At the beginning of the year there were leaks that were out about how he was doing this to Scarle, however at the time there was also a callout that was written about Luka Kaneshiro, another Nijisanji vtuber who had made his own manager feel uncomfortable, and even did sexual acts in front of her. Mujin covers this in his video about Aster’s acts.
It wasn’t until December of last year that gates on the controversy being blown open when Falseyed, a Vtuber for delivering news about the Vtuber community both agency Vtubers and indie Vtubers, made a scathing report on the allegations. Now a lot of people at the time got upset that the person who went to False weren’t leaked. The reason being that they might lose their job if they were revealed which I can understand.
Nijisanji then said that they were going to do a third party investigation and see if there was any wrongdoing. Which likely claimed that none of it occured. At the time I didn’t write on it because I was busy dealing with the holiday season and being forced to listen to Christmas songs on repeat from November 1st at Target. I didn’t want this blog to be too vtuber focused but after the non-stop vtuber drama this is where we’re at. Believe it or not vtubing is an integral part of gaming. With some vtubers like Pekora being actually in video games. It’s no different than covering New Japan Pro Wrestling because wrestlers past and present are featured in the Yakuza games.
So the question is what does this all have to deal with Twisty? Well we’ll get to that. So five days ago it was leaked that while she and a friend were playing a game, they had a conversation about one of her friends fans and decided to go off and make racist and transphobic remarks. I’m not going to link the video in question nor am I going to repeat what she said. However, interestingly enough two days later she decided to post a black screen video with herself trying to apologize for what she said. What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time that someone in Nijisanji has done something like this.
During the Selen Tatsuki incident, Elira Pendora did similiar though it included other members that were apart of Nijisanji accompanying her on stream with a black screen, and they made disparging remarks about Selen. Anyway, it was surreal that she did this which likely scared many.
But at any rate, she decided not to really apologize but instead set Nijisanji almost on fire. She revealed that Aster not only accosted her and tried to get to go to Japan so that they could stay in the same hotel room but also did it to other livers as well. As of this morning it seems that Nijisanji has privated her twitter but also nuked her youtube account.
This has happened to Nijisanji vtubers in the past. It seems that Twisty wanted to go out with a bang, though Nijisanji is a shitty company. It also doesn’t excuse the things that she said disparging men, and trans people. Though it brings a bigger question: Will Nijisanji just continue for Aster or are they going to give him the boot? Time will tell.
