With Digmon Story: Time Stranger looming across the corner, I thought it was about time to give this game a try. Though I’ve been playing it since it came onto the Vita, PS4 and Switch and have logged some 647 hours on it.

Now while we still don’t have Digimon World Next Order on the Switch, its at least on Steam and PS4 but this game comes into a close second as to how beloved it is.

Without further ado let’s hop in.

Story

You play as Aiba, either a male or a female depending on who you feel like playing, who gets thrown into the digital world of Eden, a sort of blissful place where people can interact with each other in the web, kind of like what Playstation Home should have been before it got discontinued. Or the Mii equivelent. Or Second Life… without the sex. Anyway, you get a notification from a friendly hacker to meet in Kowloon, a seedy area for hackers to find and meet Digimon. You get the option to choose one of three digimon to be your partner, which reminds me of Pokemon.

However, the fun is interrupted when these foreign entity known as a brain eater comes and attacks you, leaving you helpless. Though with the help of Kyoko, you’re able to piece yourself together and have the ability to Connect Jump into anything electronic. Because of this you become a detective in training known as a Cyber Sleuth. You meet and plethora of characters along the way from Arata to Yuuko to Nokia. And its up to you to uncover the mystery of what the brain eaters are before they destroy the digital and human worlds.
