The Atelier games have always been my guilty pleasure since Atelier Iris hit the North American shores back in 2004. Though there was a point where I did fall out of love with the series when Rorona hit the shores on the PS3. But that being said I have always described Atelier games as being moe alchemy games.
Why?
Because you had these rag tag group of people, who rose above their challenges with the power of alchemy and friendship. It’s what made these games be the inspiration for this blog.
The later entries I fell in love with the artists who worked on the character designs. Those of Hidari and NOCO. Hidari is also famous for working on the character design of Circe from Fate Grand Order and the character designs for Fire Emblem Echoes too. They are artists who I want to emulate.
Artist gushing aside. Yeah, these games are my guilty pleasure games. I have fun playing them. I’m not ashamed to say that I like the moe shoujo plot lines and the Dusk series in particular have gotten my love and my attention. I think it’s the most I’ve been obsessed with the games since Atelier. (I will never acknowledge Atelier Iris 3 and you can’t make me.)
If you haven’t played these games then you need to. Embrace the guilty pleasure of the moe alchemy.
