Tales of Graces F Review
Welcome to Review Friday! This week we're reviewing Tales of Graces f. This game first hit the shelves on the Wii. Two years later a release would also hit the Playstation 3 with additional content added to the post game. So without further ado, let's dive straight in.
Story
The game focuses on Asbel Lhant, the son of a noble lord from a village located in the land of Winsor. Asbel, his brother Hubert and their friend Cheria discover an amnesiac woman named Sophie who befriend her. They are joined by Richard, a young prince of Winsor who invites the four of them to visit him in the castle through a secret passageway. When they visit them, they are attacked by a mysterious monster whose attack kills Sophie, and renders Asbel unconcious. His brother Hubert is forced to be adopted by another noble family as a means to secure Asbel's position as the next lord of Lhant. Though this causes him to run away from home instead and join Barona's knight academy.
Seven years pass and Asbel finds himself returning to his hometown after receiving news that his father had passed away. He reunites with his brother and his childhood friend only to find himself banished from his hometown by his brother. He discovers Sophie to be alive and well, as well as Richard who was said to have been killed. The group join forces with Richard and meet Pascal, an Amarcian along the way to overthrow Richard's uncle. Once the group does so, Richard assumes the throne and decides to invade Lhant in order to be rid of the Strahta military that occupy it. The group then decides to betray him.
The story of Tales of Graces f mimics similiar stories from Tales of Abyss, Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Xillia to name a few. There's an overarching political struggle that the heroes have to help either settle or deal with as it impedes on their quest. Though it's been done before however it's also an endearing tale of friendship that can last years.
