Kirsche or Kirsche Verstahl has been someone that has been vilified in the community for a while. She’s a vtuber or virtual youtuber who has very conservative views and is know for her shock humor. She calls herself the Alex Jones of Vtubing and recently caught the eye of Sportkeeda and Vice in blasting her for her views.
Even going as far as having her dropped from a video game that she had been promoting and helping for a while and trying to get her dropped by Gamersupps. Which is a supplement company that sells vtuber inspired stuff to the masses. Which has also been under some issues since the Sinder incident.
Now before anyone wants to paint with a brush let me say this: I am a liberal. I am so liberal that my dad would often joke that if I lived during the ‘70’s that I would be amongst the women burning their bras. The thing is that I have had friends, classmates in high school and co-workers who are right wingers. I’m going to say the one thing no leftist wants to hear: People can change. People can change their views,
However, I don’t personally find it right with villianizing and villifying people who are right winged. At the end of the day they’re not the one’s making the laws and are also victims. Eventually people will see that they were in the wrong. It might take them long to realize it but people can change.
I have had my arguments with right wingers over the years. I have been called a lot of names. I’ve been told I’m an idiot, I’m stupid, I’m a r*tard because of my views. I have also been called the same by leftists for not agreeing with their hatred vitriol spewing out. Because I don’t agree with a lot of their viewpoints. That I don’t share their ideas, and I will routinely open my mouth and point out the inconsistencies.’
But, I don’t advocate for them to be cancelled on either side of the aisle. Instead, I just block them and go about my business. I don’t tell people about who I blocked or try to get people to block them. I just block them and forget that they’re there and go about my business.
This is where the joke of I like to stay in my bubble. I like to talk about video games. I don’t want to get involved in petty squabbles or circle jerks. If people can’t see the inconsistency of what they say or understand that what they were told was wrong or whatever I just walk away. They can scream into the aether, I just don’t care.
But I’m not going to advocate for someone to lose their job because of their views. Especially with the economy being the way it is and the eventual of it collapsing. (I say this as someone who spent much of March and April watching my 401k with Target go up and down like a roller coaster after I quit and was trying to pull it before it went away. You know like in 2008.) Everyone needs to do whatever they can to survive and whether right wingers realize it or not they are as much of a victim as people on the left.
Things are tough. Things are going to be tougher. I really can’t bring myself to be that cold-hearted because I’m not that kind of person. It goes against my nature. Now I do believe that people in general should spend two years working in retail at a place like Target. Where you see people of all walks of life and get treated like shit equally. But that’s a different issue altogether.
At any rate, I won’t say that I’m a fan of Kirsche’s. I’ve watched a few of her streams in the past. There are things I agree with her and things I don’t agree with her on. I also have watched Asmongold, Tectone, Rev, Paperbag Boy and Leaflie (I probably spelled her name wrong. Sorry!)
I agree with them on somethings, I don’t agree with them on other things. And sometimes I just roll my eyes and shake my head. But I’m not going to advocate for them to get unsponsored. I’m not going to spend all day hate watching them or whatever people do. I’m not going to spend all day bashing them on twitter. I just stay in my bubble and go about my business.
It’s honestly no different to me than boycotting a company. You don’t have to announce it like your flight arrived at the airport. I’ve said this before but I absolutely refuse to shop at Hobby Lobby. I will not step into that store. I have been boycotting it since news came out that they stole artifacts from Iraq during the Iraq War to fund their Bible Museaum.
You don’t see me belittling employees for working there. You don’t see me demonizing people that shop there. I would prefer they found other places to work and shop respectively. However, people are going to do what they want to do. It is not my place to judge them.
Just like it’s not my place to judge Kirsche or any of the so called right winged vtubers/youtubers. If anything she reminds me a bit of Sam Kinison.
I also don’t believe that Kirsche is a Nazi or a white supremacist. Why you may ask? When I heard a clip of her talking about her getting dropped she said the word “Chutzpah” which is Yiddish for impudence or less eloquent being balls. Also Kirsche isn’t just a German word meaning Cherry. But it is also Ashkenazi surname. Yes. That’s right, it’s a Jewish name. A lot of German names have doubled as Ashkenazi Jewish names. So to me that means that Kirsche is likely Jewish either religiously or culturally.
(Judaism doubles as a religion and an ethnicity. Regardless of how people want to police ethnicity, however it adds up to 100% you. Even me being a fucking Mutt, stemming from German, Italian, Dutch, Irish, Italian, British, Jewish, Coptic Egyptian, etc. All of that, even the smaller numbers equate to a 100% of me and you can’t take that away.)
White Supremacists/Nazis would likely try to kill her. Because White Supremacists/Nazis hate Jewish people. And people of mixed ethnicity and mixed race. How do I know that? I’ve done research on white supremacy in high school. Why? Because I believe in knowing my enemy. (I said before I had weird special interests as being Autistic and having ADHD or AuDHD, I wasn’t kidding. I’ll write about it in Into the Aether.)
Now I could be stepping off base in saying that Kirsche is likely Jewish, however, I don’t know many white women who would use Yiddish. The only women I know who would are Jewish women.
Now that being said with Ana Valens, I first talked about her when she wrote her article on VAllure. For those of you who don’t know VAllure is like a NSFW Vtuber company that does lewd ASMR stuff. As far as I know at least. But at any rate, Ana Valens is the same writer who tried to “expose” VAllure, also tried to take down Kirsche.
Now the issue that Ana had was that VAllure didn’t accept her because she didn’t have a feminine enough voice to their liking. And two she had an issue with some of their loli models. Which is an understandable critique. Something that is shared by many gamers and that is lolicon and shotacon is pedophilia.
However as it’s been revealed that Ana is apart of the dd/lg kink community. For those who don’t know dd/lg is Daddy Dom/Little Girl kink where women dress up in diapers and like like little girls. (Before anyone asks, I had friends as an adult that were into it.)
She’s also into lolicon herself, ageplay, rape/breeding kinks and has played a children’s game with a vibrator that buzzed anytime someone touched her character and livestreamed it happening. (You can look it up yourself.)
The problem that I have is that Ana Valens gives transphobic people ammo to weaponize it against the trans community. She has put trans rights a few steps back. That being said I’m going to preface this with I used to play World of Warcraft and roleplayed on Moon Guard.
One of my friends in that game used to be a prominent figure however for whatever reason his f-list was leaked to everyone on a drama blog site and he was later blacklisted by the whole community along with other people because they perceived ageplay to be pedophilia. Even though the person involved is an adult. Same thing for the DD/LG.
Now I don’t care about people’s kinks. Though what you do in the privacy of your bedroom, do not tell me about it. Unless you know we’re in an intimate relationship. If we’re not, don’t tell me. I also find things like vore, dd/lg, and ageplay to be a little weird. But if Ana Valens was to go on Moon Guard, they would instantly get canceled for being a pedophile. Not because they’re trans but because they’re into ageplay.
I honestly do not think that Ana Valens is a journalist. Same reason why I don’t really think many game journalists are well journalists. I may not have gone to school for journalism (I have a Bachelors Degree in IT) however, Journalism was my interest going into high school. What I have learned is that there is certain ethics that journalists have to do.
The first one is that they have to be objective not subjective. Meaning that they cannot take a side. Those who do are not journalists. If you have to put your own personal spin on reporting the news, that is not being a journalist. You are simply writing your opinion and have to call it as such. Now I am not a journalist. I’m an opinionated gamer. I don’t report on the news often and when I do I still give my opinion but I don’t call myself a journalist.
The other thing that journalists aren’t supposed to do is make themselves the center of their articles. Which Ana has done. Not once. But twice. Why the fuck has Vice approved those articles I don’t know. But game journalism hasn’t really been known for having journalistic integrity and has become a laughing stock.
The other thing you’re supposed to do is mitigate harm. You are not supposed to call out people. You’re not supposed to try to call on different companies to drop someone because you don’t like what they’re saying. Like it’s why on the local news anchors will say before something being graphic being shown, they say “The following may graphic for small kids and those who can’t handle such a thing".
It’s just maddening. I will say that when I did watch Kirsche’s stream there was something that I did agree with her. Things have gotten seemingly worse in comparison to the 90’s. Now I don’t know how old Kirsche is or when she was born. But I’m a 90’s kid. I was born on August 2nd, 1990; a day after Desert Storm. I grew up on Barney, Arthur, Seasame Street, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Ghostbusters Extreme, Sonic SATAM.
I grew up on shows that taught about tolerance and respecting others who are different than you. Despite the fact that I was bullied for being different and looking different. But while you had Rodney King, OJ Trial, Ruby Ridge, Waco, Oklahoma City Bombing, 9/11, etc. As a small child in the 90’s I was ignorant of everything going around me. It’s probably the same for Kirsche as well.
Even into high school and being on forums growing up, like it wasn’t as vitrolic as it was in 2009 onwards. Everything we learned got ripped to pieces and if you don’t side with what one side says then you’re the enemy. I’m not kidding when I’ve said I’ve been ripped to shreds to both sides to the point where I’m tired and don’t want to talk about politics anymore. It’s not that my politics is bad, it’s that I’m fucking tired of it. I’m tired of the attacks. I’m tired of willingness to commit libel and slander because someone views things different.
What has happened to Kirsche isn’t right. I don’t care where you sit on the aisle but everyone deserves a chance to make money and live. Except for rapists and pedophiles and actual nazis.
I’m probably going to get cancelled for saying this but #IStandWithFoxu.
