Twitch has been under a lot of scrutiny as of late, between a lawsuit, them banning people unfairly, especially vtubers, whereas others who violate the TOS are able to run around free. Not to mention some of the top streamers on Twitch who have advocated for terrorists, said that the US deserved 9/11, and stealing content from other creators. I could cover it but I would be talking about it for the next month. So instead let’s just cover the muli-streaming.
Multi-streaming has been making a bit of boom so to speak ever since Tectone got a couple of unjust bans in regards to what he has stated in the past (except for his first ban), while the people who he talked about haven’t been banned for things they said that I mentioned in the first paragraph. Between that and vtubers constantly getting mistreated for showing a little hip and getting banned, a lot of people are either leaving Twitch altogether or deciding to stream on other platforms on top of Twitch.
Twitch is ramping up their TOS to try and make it so that streamers can’t either mention the fact that they’re multi-streaming on a different site or even mention their multi-stream chat otherwise they’ll get banned. It’s a problem because for a lot of streamers, streaming is their main source of income or at least for those who don’t have a job already. So trying to limit their way of making money is kind of stupid.
I get that Twitch is trying to do this whole branding thing but at the same time it’s not beneficial to streamers especially when you have a streaming platform like Kick which seems to give streamers more for when they hit partner versus Youtube or even Twitch itself. Not to mention that they have a moderation problem with the content being posted on their site, trying to go after people for trying to make ends meet just isn’t it.
Maybe instead of going after people for multi-streaming, they should maybe go after people who have terrorists on their channel, or say that our military deserves PTSD or go after you know women actively stripping? Maybe go after people making false accusations of sexual harassment or rape while you’re at it.
Now as someone that does and has started streaming weekly, the thought of multi-streaming is a good prospect, if my laptop could handle it. But because of Twitch’s horrendous moderation, you’re not going to catch me on there unless I’m watching a stream of someone that’s not on Kick. But maybe Twitch will get the hint? We’ll see.
